Quarter Mile for the Cure
Oct. 9: Raise money for breast cancer research at SAMC & McLearran Motorsports Presents: Quarter Mile for a Cure! Come "Show and Shine" for a $5 donation or go drag racing for just $20 per car. Racers must purchase tech card from SIR and pass tech inspection to race, $20 entry fee. Track entry fees, spectator $5, crew $10, driver/Car $20. Children 10 and younger are free. Gates open at 4 p.m. for drivers and 6 p.m. for spectators. The event runs until 11:59 p.m. at 11300 S Houghton Rd. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona.

The Mini-Time Machine museum
Oct. 16 to 31: The Mini-Time Machine museum is celebrating the season with a HalloWEEn Festival. The museum will celebrate in grand style with spooky decorations, a haunted room and themed-crafts and projects for the little ones. Costumed photos will also be available. The festival takes place on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 4455 E. Camp Lowell Rd. Admission is $7, $6 for seniors/military and $5 for youths.. Girl’s Night Out
Oct. 29: It’s Girl’s Night Out at Loew’s Ventana Canyon. The one night only event will offer for purchase the newest and greatest in beauty products and the hottest fashion apparel and accessories, all for a good cause. Shop till you drop from 2 to 9 p.m. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona. The Loew’s Ventana Canyon Resort is located at 7000 North Resort Drive. Safe Treats
Oct. 31: The Oro Valley Police Department will hand out Holloween candy on the 31st. Look for them around Cañada Hills, Copper Creek, Palisades neighborhoods and Lambert and Naranja from 6 to 8 p.m.

August 14: D.L. Withers is sponsoring the 8th Annual Marana Chamber Golf tournament at The Pines Golf Course, 8480 N. Continental Links Drive, with proceeds benefiting the Marana Community Food Bank. Registration and range open at 6 a.m. with a 7:30 a.m. start. Cost is $95 per person or $350 per foursome, which includes unlimited balls for the range, cart, green’s fee, prizes and lunch.
