Get your sneakers ready, head out on the pavement ... it’s time for the Fourth Annual Harvest for Hope 5k non-competitive walk/run event, of which Oro Valley|Marana magazine is proud to be the title sponsor. The free event — entry is a bag of non-perishable food, which will be donated to Catalina Community Services — is an important reminder of the many Northwest Tucsonans that go hungry each day. In 2008, more than 5,000 pounds of food was raised along with $7,100 in sponsorship dollars that went directly to CCS. Organizers are hoping to double that figure this year.
The 2009 Harvest for Hope 5k will take place at Riverfront Park (551 Lambert Lane) on Saturday, October 3 at 5 p.m. The first 500 walkers/runners that register will receive a t-shirt and all finishers will receive a medal. To register, visit Harvest4Hope.org and enter on-line, pick up an entry form at the All About Running and Walking in the Rancho Vistoso Safeway Plaza, or register at the event.
Gather your own goods or purchase pre-bagged food at the Trader Joe’s store at 7912 N. Oracle Rd., beginning on Wednesday, September 30 through Saturday, October 3.

Westward Look Resort’s GOLD restaurant has garnered one of the wine industry’s most coveted awards. Wine Spectator magazine has awarded the restaurant its 2009 Award of Excellence.
The Award of Excellence is granted to restaurant wine lists that offer a well-chosen selection of top-quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Typically, the wine lists offer at least 100 selections. Westward Look and GOLD is located at 245 E. Ina Rd. For more information, visit WestwardLook.com
